How we approach Children’s Dentistry
Our aim is to provide an enjoyable dental experience to our young patients. We make the visit fun, so that everyone feels safe and special. It is our belief that children can become part of a cavity-free generation by understanding the importance of oral hygiene and taking pride in their healthy smile.
We also believe that a healthy diet and good oral hygiene are essential for a healthy lifestyle and our aim is to promote this to all of our young patients. We encourage bringing your child to the dentist around 6 months after the time they have get their first teeth.
Preventative Dentistry for Children
Preventative dentistry, ongoing oral hygiene procedures and good daily practices can help to prevent cavities, tooth decay and other dental diseases. Effective preventative dentistry combines at-home care and education by our dentists and staff here at Dental at Joondalup.
We aim to provide your children with:
- Dental education in a fun and caring environment
- Mouthguards to protect your child’s teeth during sports activities
Dental Awareness for Children
Here at Dental at Joondalup, we encourage a strong brushing and flossing routine for children. We also believe that informal education on how to take care of their teeth can help keep them cavity-free and set them up for a lifetime of good oral health.
We do this by:
- Teaching effective brushing techniques to young patients
- Teaching children proper flossing techniques
- Explaining the importance of mouthwash and oral rinsing
- Discussing the importance of maintaining these oral-care habits
Emergency Dental Care for Children
Emergencies happen suddenly and unexpectedly, and usually at an inconvenient time. In these stressful situations, it is important to have a trusted dentist who can provide the immediate relief and utmost care that you and your children deserve.
